刘学伟教授在中国农业大学获得学士、硕士学位，在美国南加州大学获得博士学位，加州理工学院博士后。现供职于新加坡南洋理工大学化学系兼任南洋理工大学抗菌工程中心副主任，云南大学客座教授。

刘学伟教授及其研究小组致力于糖学、糖生物学、糖蛋白以及抗菌的研究，在学科前沿卓有成效地开展工作，取得了一系列在国际上深具影响的独创性研究成果, 在基础研究及实际应用方面均取得了重要突破，他所建立的若干研究思想和方法引领了糖化学及糖生物学领域中的许多重要方向的发展。迄今已在Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Advanced Materials, Chemical Society Review等国际顶级科学期刊上发表论文140余篇，专利申请16项。曾多次举办及主持国际会议，并多次在美国，加拿大，德国，中国，日本等主流国际会议上做特邀大会报告(plenary talk)以及特邀主题报告(keynote talk)。近年来，刘学伟教授实验室培养出19名助理教授，副教授和教授。任多个学术期刊编委。

Abstract:

The diverse presence as well as their very specific bio-responses of glycoconjugates found in all living species requires scientists to synthesize and display the precise structure of these complex oligosaccharides and glycoconjugates for various studies in glycoscience. This lecture will present our recent advances in carbohydrate chemistry with emphasis on conceptually new strategies and tactics to construct glycosidic bond. Specifically, this talk will cover protection-less glycosylation for oligosaccharide synthesis and dual native chemical ligation (dNCL) for glycoprotein synthesis.
